The Harbor Inn 10/09/2010
Hey Everybody! I'm back with our latest entry for our tour. I can feel the excitement. Unfortunately, the show at Westminster College had to be postponed to November 13th. Its all good though. The Harbor in was a good time. Most importantly, we celebrated Matt's birthday! What better way to celebrate than to have great performance. Thanks to my old pal Vince for the shots of whiskey and a happy birthday to Matt Tieman(sax player in Winslow) and many more. Stay tuned for the next entry.
Rock the Post-9/25/10
First off, Rock the Post was a great show! I had a blast participating in my first one. My day was spent resting and getting mentally prepared for the show. All the opening acts were great and really fun to watch and we thank them for sharing their music, laughs and kind remaks. Only one, (well, two things) bothered me: the fog machine and the strobe lights! They were cool stage effects so don't think i'm complaining about that. The fog made it really hard to see what was going on and the strobe lights almost game me a seizure from all of the flashing. I had to shut my eyes a few times to not get a headache and start flipping out on the stage. Anyway, it was a great show and was very gratifying for myself as well as the rest of Winslow. Thanks to all who came out. To those that didn't come, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to check us out. Staty tuned for chronicles on our show in Westminster, PA at the Titan Lounge on October 2nd.

Utica Music and Arts Festival
After a very short nap, rest, whatever you want to call it, we got up at 6:30 a.m. (most of us) and ready to leave Jamestown. We ate breakfast together and Kevin drove us to Utica. It was quite the adventure. There were lots of mountains, road and detours. We still made it in 5 hours. We arrived at about 12:45 and got our registration materials and headed to the stage on Varick Street. Utica had a great atmosphere. We were recognized by some familiar faces even before we reached the stage. That’s a great feeling! We walked around, greeted people, and had some food before setting up our equipment. Chicken riggies, greens and the prime rib sandwiches were the chosen cuisine for the day. They were quite tasty too!
After a quick sound check, we began our show and played a great set. Once again, Winslow rocked out as only we can! We even tore some of the decorations off of the stage(It really happened!!). They just fell while we were playing. Too funky for the stage I guess. We finished our set and packed our stuff back in the car and then made our rounds to say goodbye to everyone and take pictures. Then it was time to get on the road and head back to Ohio. We stopped for food just outside Pennsylvania and then made our way to Mentor to drop Kevin off. Kudos to Maurice for getting us back home to Ohio safely. Big Mike drove the rest of the way home and we unloaded the car and went home to get a much needed full night’s sleep. Now it’s time to get ready for Rock the Post in Kent, Ohio at the Outpost. See you guys there and stay tuned for the next episode!

Mojo's- Jamestown, NY
The weekend started kind of rough at first. We had issues getting the travel car. Fortunately, Maurice had a back-up plan and an assist from a friend to get the car. Leaving an hour late wasn’t on the schedule, but we departed for Mentor to pick up Kevin. Packing a Chevy Tahoe shouldn’t be a hard feat to pull off. Packing that same car with a drum set, 2 amplifiers, a saxophone, 3 guitars, personal luggage and 5 band members was another issue entirely. Luckily, Charlie and Maurice have done this enough times and made it work. But man, it was a tight fit! Very tight. As in small drums on our laps for everyone but the driver. On the way to Jamestown most of the bugs in upper Northeast Ohio ended up on our windshield. Matt put the pedal to the metal and got us to Jamestown in about 3 hours. Even though we left late, we were still on time. How about that?
Mojo’s is an interesting venue. Small, but it has a great energy about it and great patrons. We had some time to kill so we asked around and found a place called Cherry’s to eat at. We did carry-out since we had to get back and set up. On the way we ate quickly and returned to Mojo’s to finish watching our opening act. They were pretty good. The bass player really stood out. He was very reminiscent of Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers with a very punk attitude(not in a bad way).
After getting set up and fighting through a crowd to get equipment on stage, we began our set with our new intro we spent 3 hours of rehearsal on and rocked Mojo’s as only Winslow can. We had a blast and are especially thankful for the couple rounds of whiskey we received. A jolly toast was followed by the imbibing of the whiskey. Sure did make the night a little more relaxing! The crowd was great and so was the staff at Mojo’s. We thank Jamestown, NY for their hospitality and we’re off to get a few hours of sleep and wake up early to make our registration time in Utica. Stay tuned for the next episode!
